Professor Jason Monty

Professor and Head of School (Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure Engineering) at The University of Melbourne

Jason Monty is Head of the School of Electrical, Mechanical and Infrastructure ("EMI") Engineering, and a Professor with the Fluid Mechanics Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.

He is an expert in experimental fluid mechanics and hydrodynamics and is experienced with field measurements of atmospheric turbulence. His research expertise is in turbulent boundary layers, boundary layer control, wave mechanics, jet and wake studies, atmospheric turbulence, wave-induced turbulence, turbulence modelling. Most recently his work has been extended to ventilation of indoor spaces, having successfully designed, built and commercialised a novel personal ventilation system for hospital patients.
